Here's the deal: Deluge Contemporary Art wants you to make and donate a record. Not the music, (unless it's part of your concept) just the cover. Here's your opportunity to honour a disappearing medium and help a worthy cause. To see your name on the charts. To show the world that fabulous concept you've been saving for when you finally make it big as a famous rock star, DJ, lounge crooner or polka king.

Long a local and national bastion of the forward-thinking contemporary art scene (and home to the internationally acclaimed Antimatter Film Festival). Deluge Contemporary Art -- formerly Rogue Art -- has produced over 200 exhibitions and shown over 2,500 local, national and international artists to an audience of more than 300,000 since its inception in 1991, cementing its role as an inestimable asset and ongoing resource to the arts community at large. Over the years, hundreds of artists, including music and art-world luminaries and emerging artists alike, have participated in this unique fundraising exhibition.

Over the past three years, we have seen a significant reduction to our operating budget as a result of provincial funding cuts. We need your help to continue to deliver quality visual and media arts programming to the local and international arts community, and we hope you'll join us to celebrate 20 years and a renewed lease in our spectacular downtown space.

Framing the Garden, Reflections of Victoria, edited by Linda Rogers

Linda Rogers has put together an anthology of Victoria painters and poets in this newly released book called Framing the Garden, it is one of her many poet laureate projects. 

Just released by Ekstasis Editions.

Victoria, the Garden City famous for its felicitous climate and heritage charm, is also renowned for its flourishing artistic community. Drawn to the beauty of Vancouver Island and the vibrant culture of a livable city, poets and artists have chosen this location as home. In Framing the Garden: Reflections of Victoria, Poet Laureate Linda Rogers presents a tapestry of contemporary Victoria, composed of images, poetry and prose by its many acclaimed authors and artists. Including work by poets such as PK Page and Patricia Young and artists Robert Amos, Miles Lowry and Phyllis Serota, Framing the Garden reveals a lively cultural centre, where past and present, words and images, nature and civilization, like sea and shore, are in a constant dance.

I am thrilled that the City of Victoria has chosen this book as my poet laureate legacy project. Artists should work together as models of co-operation for the world around us. As in the time of Keats, truth and beauty live together. I wanted my legacy project to reflect that desideratum. In Victoria we have artists, poets, painters and dancers collaborating all the time. Companies like Suddenly Dance and Ballet Victoria include spoken word in their performances. Many of our poets work with musicians. Ekphrasis, poets responding to visual art, is common practice.

Even though we couldn’t fit dancers and fiddle players in this book, we hope the poems and paintings sing and dance for you.

We couldn’t fit in all the fine poets and painters who work in our garden, but we do hope this book represents their fabulous variety.

Distort Sculpture Series . . .

# 223.49 in the series . .I have now completed all 222 in the series of crocheted Distorts sculptures. As a number of these have gone on to private collections in the years since this project began, I am now creatng the "cousins" to those that are in other parts of the world. The final installation will display all 222 sculptures.
